Don't you hate when you discover the work of an artist and you feel dumb for not knowing about them. I had a moment like that today when discovered the artwork of J. Allen St. John. If you are at all into fantasy art you need need to check his work out. But you probably already have and I am the last one to clue into his amazing work.

Drawing of my wife

I wanted to using black and white colored pencils on toned paper to see what it was like.I had never drawn this way and wanted to try it out.

Anyways my wife brought me a pic of her trying on her wedding dress before we got married and wanted me to draw it.

This is what I came up with.

The paper was pastel paper with a big tooth so it was tough to get good detail and contrast.I also should have made her pose a little dynamic, but I guess you give the client what they ask for.Anyways, this is what it turned out like.

Private Art Lessons with Llewellyn "Caravaggio Drawing"

Before returning to Canada I had the pleasure of having private art lessons with a good friend of mine, Kevin Llewellyn http://www.kevart.com/ . The first thing he had me do was this Caravaggio copy.

I found it today when I was cleaning my place and decided to post it.

It is tough looking at work I did some time ago and I actually went in and fixed it up a tiny bit.

Anyways, I learned so much sitting down and doing this and I think the painting is called "The Crucifixion of Saint Andrew".

STORMWORLD Fang Eel

The following are the initial design ideas I put together at Artifex for the fang eel.

And this is the final design they went with.

STORMWORLD

About a year ago I had the pleasure to work with Artifex Studios in Vancouver and help design some characters and creatures for the T.V. show Stormworld.

Ogee is a character that has ascended and is now a crystalline like orb.

Ogee initial concepts:

This is the final version they went with:

Stormworld Blood Kelp

I did an early concept for the blood kelp.

Just looking at old work tonight and came across some things I enjoyed doing.

I did this for a Zbrush contest.

This is a creature I did in my spare time a year or two ago. This was inspired by a design Sang Jun Lee did for Star Wars/

Hi Everyone,

My name is Lyle Moore.

Welcome to my new blog. I am going to try to make this a place where you can come and see what I am working on

I recently just got back from 8 months in LA. While in LA I had the privilege to attend Jordu Schell's class.

The following are some W.I.P. images of an alien head I did in the class.
